As we thank God and celebrate our nation each day, even with all its problems, I want to remind you of of the the spirit of liberty that gave birth to our nation.

That spirit, sadly, is lost through what has become a propaganda machine (the media) and through a wicked culture of lies, victimhood, and unrighteousness (liberals, the Democratic party, Communists, Marxists, Socialists, etc.)who hate the truth. The political mess we find our nation in today, is a picture of the moral depravity that has taken root in our culture. Fatherless homes, sexual perversion, a welfare state, open borders, high taxes, globalism, ungratefulness, disrespectful youth, lawlessness, and an entire society breaking under the yoke of unrighteousness in "calling evil good and good evil" can be linked to the failure in upholding the Bible as the supreme source of truth in our words and deeds in this nation. Politics, as a representation of our nation's moral compass in/by the people who elect men and women into office, wreaks of a sinful and foolish culture of relativity that has wreaked havoc upon the minds of our youth, those in higher education (so-called), and in the words and deeds of wicked politicians who only further compound our national sins. We must change, must go another direction, or as the Scripture admonishes, "repent!" and return to the foundation of all truth and righteousness. If we are to have an example, among our nation's political history, then we should look to the old paths, to our ancestors who demonstrated what it means, not just to be an American, but an American who recognizes the ONLY hope upon which both this nation was built and upon which it will be preserved - the Bible.

Today, along with patriotic Americans who love our nation, and the truth, let's take reflect on a few quotes about the Bible from those who played a key role in the founding of our nation, including two early presidents of American Bible Society—Elias Boudinot and John Jay:

  1. John Adams: “The Bible contains the most profound philosophy, the most perfect morality, and the most refined policy that ever was conceived upon earth.”

  2. John Quincy Adams: “[The Bible] is of all books in the world that which contributes most to make men good, wise, and happy.”

  3. Elias Boudinot: “Were you to ask me to recommend the most valuable book in the world, I should fix on the Bible as the most instructive, both to the wise and ignorant.”

  4. John Jay: “Let us therefore persevere steadfastly in distributing the Scriptures far and near, and without note or comment. We are assured that they ‘are profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16).’”

  5. Thomas Jefferson: “The doctrines of Jesus are simple, and tend all to the happiness of man. … Had the doctrines of Jesus been preached always as pure as they came from his lips, the whole civilized world would now have been Christian.”

  6. Benjamin Rush: “The Bible contains more truths than any other book in the world.”

Friends, no matter how you celebrate the political freedom established in our nation’s founding era, let us give thanks for THE book that is still changing lives and bringing spiritual freedom to people around the world - the Bible!

Remember this when you go to vote. Remember this when you measure the true character of the man or woman you yoke yourselves to. You are, in a great sense, the same as those (and their political platform) you vote for. There's no escaping that fact so, remember that, and be thankful to God that we have a full-proof source by which to measure all men and women, and every decision we make when it comes not only to politics, but every area of our lives - the precious Word of God, the Bible.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:1-2)
